School Children Feeding


Description: Located in La Gonave's largest village, Anse-a-Galets, is a primary/secondary school of nearly one thousand boys and girls fortunate enough to attend school. Unfortunately, however, due to prohibitive costs, this school (like many others in Haiti) does not provide meals for their students. This is doubly sad when you realize that many of these same children have had nothing to eat for breakfast either. The amazing thing is that for 72 cents we can provide a famished school kid a decent, protein-rich lunch... for some kids, the only meal they might eat that day.
Ideas For Giving:
  • $38 will feed a hungry child one day a week for an entire year
  • $720 will provide a nutritious meal to a thousand hungry kids on one school day
  • $3,740 would feed 100 hungry children once a week for an entire year
  • $37,440 would feed 1,000 kids once a week for an entire year
